MexITV creates a channel of communication between television and mobile phone, combining the services of a mobile phone with television content and representing a logical step for consumers, operators and content providers. This service allows viewers to enjoy personalised, interactive TV with content specifically adapted to the mobile medium. Using MexITV, consumers can enjoy a variety of services including video-on-demand, traditional and live TV programs. MexITV can also enable interaction between television viewers and certain television programmes, via the On-Screen Communication Platform. Viewers can experience two-way “live” interaction with the broadcaster. Finally, MexITV opens up an exciting opportunity for users via Mobile TV podcasts, whereby content is delivered to a user’s mobile on-demand or by subscriptions. Stored locally on the handset, this content can then be viewed without a network connection.
